The Maldives, consisting of about 1200 islands, is one of the countries most affected by climate change. As a result, almost the entire Maldives could sink into the sea by the end of this century. In such a floating city, the sea level could rise, and there is new hope for millions of Maldivians.
Residents of this city will use boats, bicycles, or electric scooters to get around, while it will also be possible to walk around the city. Houses to be built in the city will be built in a local shipyard and transported to this new city, where they will be connected to an underwater concrete structure. The city will be powered by solar energy, while deep seawater cooling will be used as an alternative to air conditioners. The price of the house will start from one and a half million dollars. On this amazing project, the Government of Maldives is working together with a company called Dutch Docklands. This company has built more than 300 floating homes, offices, schools, and medical centers around the world. It is the largest project of which there is no example anywhere in the world.
