Migingo Island, located in Lake Victoria, Africa, has the honor of being the most densely populated area in the world. 

The island is actually a large rock in Lake Victoria that has been inhabited. It has an area of ​​just 2000 square meters and a height of 15 meters.

 The population of this island is around 500 in 2021. All the people living here are fishermen and boatmen. The island was first settled in 1991 by some Ugandan fishermen and then some Kenyan fishermen also settled here.

Geographically, Mugungu is closest to Kenya from where it is only a few kilometers away.

 While the distance of this island from Uganda is more than 300 km. But still there are disputes between the two countries over the claim of this small rock. Both Kenya and Uganda claim ownership of Mugungu.
